Dr. Michael Stanton, network scientist and a former director of the National Education and Research Network (RNP), received the Outstanding Achievement Award for 2018, at the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean (Latin American and Caribean Internet Addresses Registry- LACNIC), for its contribution to the development of the Internet in the region. REUNA’s publication “Red in Acción” N40 is available online

In July, REUNA published the digital magazine Red en Acción. This edition includes a review of the release of the first section of the new network link for the LSST, which runs between Cerro Pachón, La Serena and Santiago. The first 800 km that this network (over 3,000km) has an initial capacity of 10 Terabits per second and unlimited growth potential.
