The SC Conference Series is a test bed for cutting-edge developments in high-performance networking, computing, storage, and analysis. Network Research Exhibition (NRE) demonstrations leverage the advanced capabilities of SCinet, SC’s dedicated high-capacity network. Additionally, each year, a selection of NRE participants are invited to share the results of their demos and experiments from the preceding year’s conference as part of the Innovating the Network for Data-Intensive Science (INDIS) Workshop. Network researchers and professionals from government, education, research, and industry are invited to submit proposals for demonstrations and experiments at the SC Conference that display innovation in emerging network hardware, protocols, and advanced network-intensive scientific applications. A new section of the High-Speed Network will strengthen R&E in the Austral Macrozone

The “Patagonia Project” initiative, led by REUNA, is a joint effort with the National Research and Development Agency (Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo, ANID). The new section of the network involves an investment of 800 million pesos to move towards a scalable, secure, and resilient digital infrastructure, which will integrate the Aysén and Magallanes regions into the Global Academic Networks. NRP is a partnership of more than 50 institutions, led by researchers and cyberinfrastructure professionals at UC San Diego, supported in part by awards from the U.S. National Science Foundation. NRP is the name of the set of programs, facilities, and policies that are designed for distributed growth and expansion. SKA Observatory celebrates the start of telescope construction in Australia and South Africa

In ceremonies at both sites in Australia and South Africa, the SKA Observatory celebrated the start of construction of its world-leading radio telescopes and announced €300 million worth of construction contracts. SKA will be the largest radio telescope in the world when completed in 2028 and will address the biggest questions in astrophysics.
