August 7-8, 2017Dr. Heidi Morgan and Jeronimo Bezerra presented Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) Scaling Issues and Network Needs (part of session Towards A Global Research Platform) at the First National Research Platform (NRP). AmLight team at the Kytos Summit Sao Paulo Brazil
August 21-23, 2017AmLight Network Engineers Jeronimo Bezerra and Adil Zahir (FIU), Antonio Francisco and Rogerio Motitsuki (ANSP), and Vinicius Arcanjo (RNP) attended the Second Kytos Summit that took place in São Paulo State University (Portuguese: Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho”, UNESP). In addition to sessions related to the controller, the attendees had technical presentations and discussions related to the status of UNESP, AmLight, ANSP, and RNP networks and how they are using, or planning to us SDN technologies. Large Scale Networking (LSN) Workshop on Operationalizing SDN
September 18-20, 2017Dr. Julio Ibarra attended the LSN Workshop on Operationalizing SDN, held from September 18 until September 20 in Washington, D.C. The workshop is a sequel to two previous workshops in 2013 and 2015, with the purpose to invite participants from the academia, industry, open source software communities, and government agencies to discuss the current state and forward pathways for the realization of an open, innovative, multi-domain and inter-operable SDN as an operational infrastructure.  The workshop intends to facilitate an objective and constructive dialogue among different SDN stakeholder communities. September 25-27, 2017Jeronimo Bezerra and Antonio Francisco (ASNP/AmLight) presented “AmLight’s SDN Looking Glass: Centralizing SDN monitoring for troubleshooting” at the 17th Annual Global LambdaGrid (GLIF) Workshop, held on 25-27 September 2017 at the University of Sydney, Australia, and hosted by AARNet, the Australian National Research and Education Network. GLIF 2017 is bringing together networking experts from around the world to collaborate and exchange knowledge on new lambda networking technologies, middleware, and applications.
