By leveraging network telemetry from both packet and optical layers and a perfSonar mesh, the SDN framework will shift towards the Autonomic Network Architecture (ANA) specification, focusing on the ANA\u2019s self-optimization discipline to better support SLA-driven real-time applications. In 2019, AmLight introduced its NSF award called AmLight-INT and the first results of the collaboration with NoviFlow to deploy In-band Network Telemetry on the AmLight SDN switches. In 2021, after two years of developing the INT ecosystem, the team presented the results and lessons learned. The SA3CC is a standing committee that was established in conjunction with the AmLight network &#8211; a project sponsored by the NSF International Research Network Connections (IRNC) program. SA3CC is comprised of representatives from the various astronomy projects operating observatories in South America, and network operators of the research and education networks in South America and Africa.
