\"CHEP2018\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Jeronimo Bezerra, CIARA Assistant IT Director, and Beraldo Leal, researcher of UNESP\u2019s Scientific Computing Center (NCC) presented \u201cUsing<\/span> Kytos SDN platform<\/span><\/a> to enhance international big data transfers\u201d at the <\/span>Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics (<\/b>CHEP 2018<\/b><\/a>) Conference<\/b> which took place on 9-13 July 2018 at the National Palace of Culture, Sofia, Bulgaria. The conference is organized by the Institute for Advanced Physical Studies, Sofia University, Plovdiv University, New Bulgarian University, Bourgas Free University, INRNE\u2010BAS, IICT-BAS and Sofia Municipality. Approximately 600 computing experts and scientists attended CHEP 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kytos SDN Open Source platform is a tool that has been developed by the Sprace (Sao Paulo Research and Analysis Center) engineers and researchers in partnership with AmLight to provide a simple and efficient solution for managing software-defined networks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The CHEP conference addresses the computing, networking and software issues for the world\u2019s leading data\u2010intensive science experiments that currently analyze hundreds of petabytes of data using worldwide computing resources. The Conference is a major event in the area, featuring plenary sessions, parallel sections, and poster presentations; it publishes peer-reviewed Proceedings. CHEP 2018 addressed challenges in data\u2010intensive experimental and computational science to stress the increasing importance of the computing\u2010related connections between high\u2010energy and nuclear physics and data\u2010intensive astronomy, X\u2010ray science and computational science.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the conference, Leal and Bezerra introduced the Kytos SDN Platform and showed how their latest application (Kytos MEF E-Line) could automate the process of creating WAN circuits.<\/span><\/p>\n

AmLight engineers are working on Kytos and MEF E-Line development in order to use this application for the provisioning and circuit management that will be used during experiments like \u00a0LSST (The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope).<\/span><\/p>\n
